This policy explains what information Offgrid Syndicate Aussie Itineraries ("the app") accesses, collects, and shares when you use it. We've kept the app intentionally simple, there is no user account system, no login, and no advertising or analytics tracking built into the app.
Offgrid Syndicate Aussie Itineraries is a travel planning guide designed to assist users in discovering and organising Australian travel experiences. It is not an authoritative source of information and makes no representation that any content within the app is complete, current, or accurate.
All information contained within this app, including but not limited to place descriptions, locations, distances, opening hours, accessibility details, pricing, availability, road and track conditions, and points of interest, is provided for general planning and inspirational purposes only. Users are solely responsible for independently verifying all information before making any travel, accommodation, or activity decisions. The developer accepts no responsibility for decisions made in reliance on information provided by this app.

If you have any question about this policy or how the app handles your information, contact us at the email address above.
If you choose to save an itinerary, you may optionally type in a display name and personal trip notes. This information, along with the itinerary itself, is stored so that it can be viewed and rated by other users of the app, this sharing is by design and is visible to anyone who opens the app. Do not include sensitive personal information in a saved itinerary's title, notes, or comments, since these are not private.
Saved itineraries, ratings, comments, and community-discovered places are stored using Supabase, a third-party database provider. Supabase hosts this data on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes. See Supabase's privacy policy for details on how they handle hosted data.
If you post a comment on a shared itinerary, the comment text and the display name you choose to enter (or "Anonymous traveller" if left blank) are stored and shown publicly to other users within the app.
Premium subscribers can use the AI Travel Guide, an in-app chat feature for trip planning questions. Messages you type into this chat are sent from your device to our own server, which forwards them to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response, and returns that response to you. We do not permanently store your chat conversations ourselves, though message content is transmitted through Anthropic's systems in order to generate a reply, see Anthropic's privacy policy for how they handle this. Places the AI suggests and you choose to save may be stored via Supabase in the same way as other saved places (see "Saved & shared itineraries" above). Avoid typing sensitive personal information into the AI chat.
If you use the app's live "nearby places" search for a specific town, the app sends that town's name to OpenStreetMap's public Overpass API to retrieve real-world points of interest. We do not access or transmit your device's precise GPS location for this feature, you select the town from a list. This request is sent directly from your device to OpenStreetMap; we do not store the results ourselves.
Place photos are loaded from Unsplash, a third-party photo service, directly to your device. Loading these images may share your device's IP address with Unsplash in the same way it would when loading any image from a website. See Unsplash's own privacy policy for how they handle this.
Live weather and sea conditions are sourced from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), a free third-party weather API. This data is transmitted directly from your device to Open-Meteo's servers. See Open-Meteo's terms for details.
When you download a PDF of your itinerary, the app loads a third-party code library (jsPDF) from a public content delivery network to build the file. This happens on your own device, your itinerary content is not sent to any external server to create the PDF.
Offgrid Syndicate Aussie Itineraries offers optional Basic and Premium subscription tiers with a free trial period. All payment is handled entirely by Apple's In-App Purchase system, we do not collect, see, or store your payment card details, billing address, or other payment information. Your subscription is managed through your Apple ID account (Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device), where you can also view billing history or cancel at any time. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles payment information.
Offgrid Syndicate Aussie Itineraries is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app contains no age-gating because it does not collect the kind of personal information that would require it, but if you believe a child has provided personal information through the app's comment or notes fields, contact us and we will remove it.
Saved itineraries, comments, and ratings remain stored until removed. If you would like a saved itinerary, comment, or trip note removed, contact us at the email address above with details (such as the itinerary title and approximate date saved) and we will delete it.
